
Pregnancy Week 13
Week 13.
This is the end of the first trimester and baby is fully formed, at an approximate weight of ¾ of an ounce, your baby is the size of a peapod.
Fingerprints are starting to form now on the little fingertip, baby’s vocal cords and intestines are continuing to develop. The placenta is now ready.
Within the last weeks of the first trimester, the final vaginal scan will be conducted, from here all other scans will be external. Usually, this ultrasound gives the estimated date for delivery, it may differ from the date previously calculated.
Mom, morning sickness, and fatigue may start subsiding, and you may start regaining your energy and experiencing an increase in your sex drive. As you continue to gain weight, you should aim to gain just over one pound every week.
