Pregnancy Week 16
Week 16.
By this time your baby’s growth is taking another boost as its overall body size increases rapidly. The body length increases and the legs become stronger as well. The scalp of the baby is developing patterns, but the locks are not yet distinguishable. The biggest development is the performance of the heart which is now pumping more than 6 gallons of blood every day.
Mom, you may start having backaches, your breasts will feel bigger and your skin may also feel dry and sensitive. Keep moisturizing that baby bump and try not to scratch. Constipation can also occur during this stage, so be sure to eat lots of fiber and drink lots of water. If it’s your first pregnancy you may not notice the kicks but someone who has been pregnant before, you may know what to look out for. An ultrasound at this point can show the baby’s gender although it depends on the baby’s position in the womb.
