Pregnancy Week 8
Week 8.
With the second month coming to an end, your baby’s respiratory system is on its way, breathing tubes are forming and connecting to the growing lungs. The body is developing its nervous systems, with nerves spreading in every direction, connecting with each other, and all the body parts. While you won’t see the baby’s eyes until a later stage, the development of the retinas and optical parts start this week.
Mom, at the end of this week, you will start to develop a much more heightened sense of smell. The smallest things could cause nausea for mothers at this point. Other symptoms start taking over, the need to sleep, as you feel more exhausted than ever before. Remember, your blood volume has increased by 40% to 50%, your heartbeat has increased by 10 beats and your uterus is growing, there is a lot going on in your body. At this point, your belly may or may not start to show, both situations are normal so if you’re not showing yet, there is no need to worry.
